Hi all. I was just wondering if anyone has brought the Miglia TVMax from the Apple UK store (or any store, for that matter) I want to be able to watch & record TV on my iMac, and am currently trying to asses the best option.

Here I have a sky feed coming into my room, but it just comes in via standard coax and then into a normal TV arial socket. I was wondering if anyone has the Miglia TVMax and has a sky signal going into the box via coax, and if so, can you watch & record fine?

It's a kinda expensive TV solution compared with the other TV offerings, but I like the sound of the Miglia TVMax box doing all the actual encoding. Here's what it says on the apple site:

"Full Hardware Compression to MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX
TVMax integrates video compression technology that handles the tranformation of the analog TV signal into an MPEG-2, MPEG-4 or DivX digital copy.
Thanks to the hardware compression that TVMax delivers, your Mac does not have to do the work to convert files, this leaves your CPU free to do lots more tasks whilst TVMax does all the hard work."

If this really can accept a sky feed via coax as an input & not trouble my iMac with the actual encoding, then this looks like a good bit of kit. Let me know if you have a similar set up.

Thanks in advance.
