Migrate data using an ExpressCard?

I just purchased a MacBook Pro because my liquid cooled G5 died (don't get me started on that). I need to migrate my data from the old G5 start-up disc and I am wondering if I can use a SATA drive dock with an ExpressCard cable to connect to the ExpressCard slot on the MacBook Pro?

All the documentation talks about using either firewire or wifi, so I'm curious what knowledge or experience any of you have with using an ExpressCard to migrate.
