migrate from new to old

I have a new macbook air and want to use migration assistant to transfer files and settings to an old iMac someone gave me. I find plenty of how-tos for migrating from an old mac to a new. But can I use Migration Assistant to migrate from a new macbook air to an old iMac mid-2007? Both computers have OS 10.10.2 installed. Thank you!

Yep... no problem since the are both on the same OS X version.
