I'm currently rocking a 1st gen 1TB TC. I've picked up a 2TB 4th Gen TC and I'm wondering which is the easiest way of transferring the data onto the new one, from the old one. I haven't yet seen an option in Airport Utility to do so.

My 1st Gen TC is modded (fan mod) so I can get access to the HDD via SATA if it turns out to be quicker. I'm not opening the new one as it's still under warranty.

Is it best to pop out the old HDD, connect it to my Macbook via a sata-usb adaptor and copy the files over? Or connect it to the new TC? Or turn both on at once and copy over the network (just figured that would be the slowest option).
