Help! I've switched my POP-Accounts to IMAP yesterday and since then, it's a nightmare... here is what happened:

I have a domain + plus Emails that are hosted by a provider. There are 12 accounts which I've used for years as POP accounts. It all worked fine, the only thing that bothered me, that my "sent"-mails weren't stored on the server (the incoming mail was). Also, the thought of being able to be in synch with my emails, no matter where & when I check them seemed nice enough to convince me to switch.

Since I've had many Emails stored locally on my drive (my main account has roughly 3000 messages in the inbox and about the same amount in the sent-box) and I didn't want to loose these messages I came up with a plan as to how transfer these messages and stay sane...

1. I've created 2 new mailboxes for each account
one to archive the inbox
one to archive the sent box

2. I deleted the POP accounts and the old mailboxes that came with it

3. I created new IMAP accounts

4. I tested the accounts - worked fine

5. I decided to stick with it an started migrating my old messages: I moved the messages from the "archive-inbox" to the new inbox and the messages from the "archive-sen box" to the new sent box

This is where the disaster started.

I took an awful lot of time during which it was synching and copying. I figured that was normal with that many messages. However, after letting it work for 24hrs I gave up to transfer my biggest account (the one with the 3000 messages) and decided I'll keep it in the archive mailbox. But: no matter what I do, I'm stuck with "performing pended operations" - I can't make it stop. The only way is to disable the account in the preferences. But then my "sent" folder is gone, since it's stored only on the server (why is that?!? I don't understand it... can I change it somewhere...?? that's insane?!? I need a local copy, too, Im not constantly online, ie when I travel...)

The "pending operations" take up everything, meaning I can't receive, nor send Emails!!

When nothing helped and I couldn't find a solution via Google (yes, I found the article about getting rid of pending operations... it says: "delete all the files in the following folder: ~/Library » Mail » IMAP-youremail@somedomain.com » .OfflineCache" the only thing is: THERE IS NO .OfflineCache in the aforementioned folder! At least not on my Mac... Aaarghhhh....)

I've tried even to import the mailboxes from my back-up, but it gives me an error message: "No valid Mail for Mac OS X file where found" - what's that supposed to mean?!? I can see the messages, I can even open them and read them?!?

I'm close to a) a nervous breakdown, or b) throwing my Mac out of the window, or c) both. Can somebody help me, please???? Thanks in advance and desperate greetings.
