Hello all,
Got a new imac today and wanted to migrate my old 2006 macbook data using migrate assistant.
I whas stupid enough back in 2006 to try filevault on my macbook and have not been able to turn it off since. I hooked everything up and booted the Macbook with the T (firewire cable)option and selected migrate assistance on the new Imac, the utility complained about not being able to migrate filevault protected accounts.
So I unhooked everything and put my macbook back on my desk.
However when I turn on my macbook and select my account, enter correct password I get an error saying " this user is unable to log on at this time". No further info provided
When I hooked my macbook to my imac I did see this "cookie" file /Users/.<username>. in my home folder as described in this forum post

Will removing this file work? I have one account on my macbook that does not have admin privileges.
Any help much appreciated.
