When setting up the new 2016 Macbook Pro, is it possible to connect my 2013 MBP to it using Thunderbolt via the dongle? TB is usually the fastest way to transfer a large amount of data. Apple has an article on how to do the migration using USB-C to USB-C cable and doesn't say anything about USB-C to TB here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204754

As far as I was told yes. I was at the apple store yesterday buying a usb-c cable and a thunderbolt to usb-c adapter and the sales guy told me that was the setup he was planning on using as well.
The question I have is how fast will it be? write speed on new ssd drives of 2 gigs/second - does that mean a 1tb drive could be transferred in 10 minutes?!? Seems hard to believe.
