Migrating data from a Tiger PBG4 to MBA?

So I went to use the migration assistant when my Air showed up this morning (lucky I called in sick, I wasn't expecting it until wednesday), and I discovered the Tiger version doesn't support transfer by network connection, only target disk (or for the old school of us, "firewire disk") mode. So now the question: does anyone know if target disk mode works in USB? or if there's any other way to easily migrate my data other than just sharing my user directory and copying it over?
