Late 2008 MBP running SL migrated to new 2011 MBP.
Just did a straight firewire transfer of data.

It's been VERY VERY unresponsive under the new MBP.
Created a test user and all is well and fast under the new MBP.

Grrr..
Tried logging into migrate user and disabled startup items.
Still Buggy.

Just short of deleting the libraries from my user folder( which is fairly drastic)....and or just creating a new user and starting from scratch, any ideas or suggestions ya'll can provide to isolate it down.

My guess (and it's _only_ a guess) is that by doing a "straight transfer" you copied everything from your old home folder to your new one, is that correct?

What I'd suggest:
1. Log in as your "test user"
2. DELETE your existing account (the one you copied things into)
3. Create a NEW account which will become your home account
4. Put the old MBP into target disk mode, connect to the new one, and use Migration Assistant to import your account data.

Just something to try, if you haven't done so already.
