Migrating files from iMac (Lion) to white MacBook (Tiger/Leopard)

Hello all..

I have about 100GB of information (music, files, etc.) that I'd like to transfer to a "new" white MacBook I just purchased. I have a Time Capsule at my disposal as well. The iMac is running Lion, but the MacBook will have just Tiger or Leopard on it, I believe.

What's the best route to take?

You could clone your USER folder (Macintosh HD / Users / YOU) via CarbonCopyCloner from your iMac to the MacBook connected in Target Disk Mode.

Would that work if going from Lion to an older version of OSX?
