Perhaps I have this wrong, but I gather iOS 10 and prior apps that are not upgraded by the vendor may well not work in iOS 11. Indeed I have one (QuckOffice) that is very flakey in os10. Is there a way to bulk convert or migrate such files into a different app such as PSF Expert or MS Word? Obviously I can do that one at a time but it's a chore.

You can save those files to iCloud Drive (or any other cloud base service) and, latter, import them to new office (or other) application.
