Migrating from AW1 to AW2

I did a quick scan but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have a procedure for migrating from the Apple Watch 1 to the Apple Watch 2? I want to simply movie my data from one watch to the other and then sell off my Apple Watch 1.

My guess would be to unpair the Apple Watch 1 first (effectively making a backup on the iPhone) then pair the Apple Watch 2?

Just wanted some confirmation before I do it.

Unpair Apple Watch 1. It will backup to iPhone. Then pair Apple Watch 2.
