Alright, so I finally got my invite last night for Mailbox. I must say, Mailbox does a lot of things very well. Unfortunately, I realized I really didn't need the assistance at reaching "inbox zero".

I noticed one thing while using it for a while, though. I remember a little while back the Gmail app had to get rid of showing "status" for mail and "checking/refreshing inbox" in the status bar. I think it was the last update the app had...

The question I have is, why is Mailbox allowed to continue using this feature, when Gmail had to drop it? Is Apple planning to make this a rule across the board, or are they allowed to cherry pick? I figured it was because Eddy Cue's son is involved with the mailbox app, thus why they still have this feature..
