Hi all –

I have an M1 Mac Mini with Ventura which I am in the process of migrating from as I have upgraded to an M2 Mac Studio which has Sonoma pre-installed.

I have used Time Machine to migrate as suggested on this forum and have tested some applications and things seem to be running okay.

I am midway through working for clients and would ideally like to keep my Mini on my desk just in case things go wrong, so I can go back to it. What I'm not sure about is will it be okay to turn on Mail, iCloud etc on my new machine if it's still turned on on my old Mini? And are there any other issues I should know about – I already ran into a problem where my new computer said I couldn't use Apple Pay even though I have a Magic keyboard attached.

Thanks

Unless you've got something strange in your setup, yes! That's what IMAP and iCloud are there for, to access stuff and keep everything synchronized between all of your devices. What else do you have?

Thanks – I was just wondering whether there was something I was missing in terms of setup but I suppose each user's software causes different potential issues. For me the setup worked fine apart from some software not being ready – namely Extensis font software and related plug-ins for all Adobe software. Apart from that it was great and this machine is a real eye-opener in terms of speed. Definitely the fastest and quietest Mac I've ever owned...!
