I know nothing about php/mySQL, but I'd like to migrate my forums (as small as they are :() over to vB3. Has anyone done this? Can it be done? How is it done?

Many thanks!

I think the database tables used by vB and phpBB are probably very different from one another, and from what I saw on their respective sites there's no conversion from one to another.

It might be possible to export the table info as text files, modify it to match the new bb and then import, but that'd be a stretch.

Good luck. :)

Well, I've been looking in to this more, apparently there is a migration tool from phpbb2 to vB 2.3.4, from there you can migrate from vB 2 to 3...I duuno if it's worth it really.

Why do you want to move?

Also, don't you need to pay for vB?

P.S. phpBB's coming out with v2.2 "sometime soon". Looks like it'll have lots of nice new features.

Becasue vB3 is many, many times better than phpbb2.

You don't need to ;)

I still can't imagine it even coming close to the features of vB3.
