Migrating from PPC to Intel Mac

Refresh my memory --

I need to use Migration Assistant to Xfer data on a PPC iBook to a new Intel Mac Mini. Is there anything I need to be mindful of before doing the xfer?

You don't have to if both systems are running Leopard. I was able to create a user with the same name on the new box and copy the contents of each home folder directory to the new box. Run a permissions repair and you're done.

Migration Assistant is nice, but it takes FOREVER if there is quite a bit of data on the old iBook. It works nice for migration of apps that may need to write data outside the home folder, but going from PPC to Intel, I took the time to upgrade/switch to Intel-native apps anyway. No sense in running apps in Rosetta when they are available as Universal or Intel-only.
