Migrating music / itunes from windows to macbook

Was wondering if I can transfer my itunes library from my windows computer to my macbook without messing up the music I have on my macbook itunes.

Will the migrated music just appear on my itunes along with the music already there?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, never attempted this before.
