A long time ago, I imported a lot of my music CDs into iTunes, or Music. I then copied the iTunes directory, which was either from my Mac mini or MacBook Pro, I can't remember, to my NAS. I remember I put the music from iTunes onto my iPhone so I could listen. I'm finding now that some of the music apparently didn't get onto to my iPhone.

When I look at this data on my NAS, the directory structure looks something like the following -

iTunes
Automatically Add to iTunes
Automatically Add to Music.localized
Books
Home Videos
Mobile Applications
Music

As I'm looking at the directory structure of my macOS Tahoe version 26.0, searches didn't come up with an iTunes directory. I wanted to copy over the old iTunes directory from my NAS to my new macOS Tahoe so that I could have access to my music once again and bring over the music that is missing to my iPhone.

Any ideas on how I can accomplish this or am I at a loss? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

Hold down option while opening Music will allow you to select a music library to open/import.
Lots of tutorials/articles/blogs on the web...

@Bigwaff Yeah, I did some searching but I wasn't sure about the directory structure that I copied over so long ago. I wasn't sure how to approach that. I appreciate the info!

Ruh roh!!! I did some more searching and it appears that the method you outline is looking for a "iTunes Library.itl" file. Hmmm... I'm not finding this file in my old iTunes directory. Does this mean I'm out of luck???

Interestingly though, I opened Music and it asked to open my NAS which I did. I can see all of my music in the Music app. But, when I connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, Music sees it in Devices but I can't drag-n-drop the missing music on my iPhone like I used to. Any ideas on this? Could all of it be in the cloud?
