I sold my Late 2008 Macbook Pro and my wife's late 2008 Macbook white and backed them each up on 500GB external hard drives. What would be the best route to getting both our macbook information on to the iMac? I looked at the migration method but didn't see anything saying you could use both computers to one single computer. your help is appreciated!

I would -guess- that you first hook up -your- MacBook, and use Migration Assistant to migrate your account and data over. That data will go into your -new- account on the iMac.

Then, hook up your wife's Macbook and again use MA to migrate her account over. MA will create a -second new account- for her, and migrate over her stuff, as well.

Not sure how MA will handle differences it finds in the Applications folder on the two MacBooks. You could choose to exclude "application migration" on -one- of the MacBooks, and resolve any differences "manually"...
