Have a MacBook Pro, trying to migrate data from Snow Leopard, when trying to download "Migration Assistance' to the MCP all I get is foe Snow Leopard and MBP will not accept this. Need help.

You are in the wrong forum ... this is the Mac Pro desktop tower forum.
But ... you should not have to download anything ... you will find "Migration Assistant" in your Applications/Utilities folder on your MBP. Just connect your old computer and run the application from there.
