so ive tried to do the migration assistant from my wifes 07 MPB 15" (model 2,2) to my new 2010 MBP 15" i7 (6,2) and it doesnt seem to be working properly...

for starters i did not do the migration when i first booted up the new MBP. at that time i chose "migrate at later time".

ok so when i open up migration assistant on the new MBP i choose "from another Mac" and then open MA on the 07 and choose "to another Mac". i hit continue on both and everything seems to be working, but takes FOREVER when migrating wireless over a network. so after watching the loading bar sit in the same spot for about a half an hour i canceled the migration.

then i connected an ethernet cable between the two and started it again. this time everything seems to be working, but then i start getting warnings saying "there seems to be a problem with your network"... ? that warning lets you continue if you want, but when you do it just pops the warning again and again.

im only trying to get 1 or 2 apps off the other MBP... why is this so hard?

any help is appreciated
