Hi All,

The MBA is Monterey.

If we get a new iMac - I’m hoping i can use migration assistant to move My files across.

However, Migration assistant - does it have to be Ventura to Ventura?

I really don’t fancy upgrading the OS on the MBA for a few months yet - Monterey is working bug free fab.

Hope you can assist!

Martin

No, you can migrate from any version of MacOS that has the Migration Assistant app. I moved from an iMac running El Capitan to a Mac Mini running Monterey. Just make sure the version of MacOS on the target Mac is the same or newer.

Valuable remark, thank you. I was thinking to use Migration or just manually airdrop all my clutter. It seems, I have manual way to go because old computer is on Ventura already.

It's sad that it probably wont let me migrate on Monterey and reading my Ventura startup disk ie roll back since Ventura blows a big one on my MBPro 16" i9 64GB. It freezes and locks up 1-3 times a day

The answer is "no".
That's it... nothing follows.
