Migration Assistant from Disk Image

I've been trying to import my old user file from a disk image I made but haven't been having any luck. I created the image through disk utility upon installing Mavericks because it said the file system was corrupt. After working with a couple issues I was able to do a clean install. I've tried to use this utility but no luck. Has anyone here had any luck with this?
