Migration Assistant not working

I'm trying to use Migration Assistant to move all data from a MacBook with OS X 10.7.5 to a brand new MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.4.

Everything works fine until I actually start the migration. After seeing the same number in Migration Assistant on both Macs, clicking Continue, selecting all data, and clicking again Continue on the MacBook Pro the data transfer seems to start but then the MacBook Pro does nothing but to return to the login screen.

I tried this several times, wirelessly and with cable, and get always the same result.

Is there anything that I can do to get this going?
