Hi,
I'm planning to do a clean 10.6 install in order to partition my drive for Boot Camp - it's too fragmented (or something) at the moment, or I would have done an upgrade instead.
I'll be taking a Time Machine backup of the disk, and then use Migration Assistant to move stuff back.
However, I'm a bit concerned about some permission stuff: I have my Aperture, iPhoto and iTunes libraries in the /Users/Shared/ folder, and by using user groups (ACLs(?)) I've been able to let all users have access/permissions to these libraries. Will Time Machine and Migration Assistant "remember" all permissions etc, or do I need to fix all the permissions again? I'm a bit concerned about that, as it involves moving the libraries to a new folder, which I'm afraid will break the references between Aperture and iPhoto....
PS. For those interested in sharing libraries between users, the instructions are here: Mac OS X Hints
