i just got a new iMac 27 to replace my 2009 iMac 24.

I want to copy all my data, but only select aplicatioms. I will be migrating from a (2nd) clone backup. I do not want all my applications to be copied, I do not want CS4 and MS Office, and others to be copied.

Since Migration Assistant copies all applications...

I am thinking I could just boot from my clone drive (on my old iMac) then use an App Zapper to remove the undesired applications. Will this work?

What about the bundled applications, such as Pages, Numbers iMovie, etc?

Any help much appreciated.

Most macOS apps are self-contained, and can be copied directly from the Applications directory from one computer to another. Then you can reinstall the few that have more involved installations.

MS Office wasn't properly transferred over for me when I tried the automatic migration, so I prefer the manual approach.
