Hi everyone,

I'm considering getting a MacBook Air the next time it's updated and making it my primary machine (BTW I'll sell my iMac to buy a 24" LED screen for the MBA, which will make it like a desktop).

Anyway, my problem is kind of complicated, so here are the details:
-I started off with a 1G MacBook Pro; used it for awhile, accumulating all kinds of programs and files.
-Bought an aluminum iMac and used Migration Assistant over FireWire 400 to move my system to the iMac.
-My iMac seemed to have retained some stuff that caused problems on my MacBook Pro (mainly slower performance because of apps that I couldn't get rid of and bugs in Software Update).
-The next time I buy an Apple computer I don't need to transfer any of my applications - the only ones I want to keep are the Leopard ones and iWork, but I can simply reinstall iWork using the disk.
-I DO want to transfer my iTunes Library and my Pages templates I don't want to lose my lyrics/play counts/ratings in iTunes or my professional custom templates in Pages.
-When I move my iTunes Library to the new computer I want it to go in the Music folder (right now it's in a shared folder for some reason).
-I want to transfer the entire contents of my Documents, Pictures and Movies folders but I don't want to transfer the iTunes folder in my Music folder (the actual library is buried in the iTunes folder instead of being a double-click away once in the Music folder)

Should I skip Migration Assistant and simply copy my files myself? If so, do I just copy my program settings folder?
