I'm trying to transfer just some songs in GarageBand from my old 2008 iMac to my M1. I get to the point where I deselected everything but my Apps. I don't want to transfer all of the apps. I click on the apps folder to show what I want to transfer but I can't. Then my new computer says it's searching for files and the number increases but my old computer says it's already transferring files. Is this normal?

just copy the files to an external drive, then plug that in to your new mac, and copy the garageband files to your new mac.

migration assistant is serious overkill for this...
