Migration from iMac PowerPC to Intel iMac with Leopard

I have heard there is a problem using Apple's Migration Assistant when going from a PPC iMac G5 to a new iMac. Is there a work around? Is there a known problem?

Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

If you need all your original files, save em to an external drive or some DVD's and transfer them later to an Intel Mac with Leopard.

PPC to Intel is just bad.
