Hi there,

I am attempting to migrate my old macbook data to my new imac, and I have run into a problem with having the same name on my user accounts for each computer. In order for the transfer to work I had to change the name of the account to which I wanted to transfer this data, and my folders ended up under a new account with read/write protection evidently added to everything. To be clear, the hard drives are not what have the same name, and it is not the name of the computer, but the default user accounts. Anyone have any insights for a workaround for me to relatively easily get my files onto the default user of my new computer? I am regretting having started anything up without having first prepared to transfer my data, because now that I am where I am, it looks like this will become unnecessarily complicated. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

-Doug
