Hi all,

As mentioned in the last few posts, I have just moved across to mac.

I have pc with all my songs and movies.. more than 200 gb worth of data in it.

Some of my questions are :

1. Is there a easy way to copy them from my hp laptop ?
2. Would it reduce my mac laptop speed drastically ?
3. Do I have to worry about some of the files might be corrupted ?
4. Is there a tool that I can use to manage all my songs and movies ?
5. I have been using my hp laptop to back up my i phone contacts and do all my upgrades. When I download itunes on my new mac, do I need to do anything special to transfer them as i have heard you can loose all ur contacts if u hook ur iphone to multiple computers ??

needless to say, thank you all. love this forum .... :)

1. click here for instructions.
2. no.
3. potentially, but not likely.
4. iTunes (as long as the files are in iTunes-friendly formats)
5. another user will advise. if worse comes to worst, there is PhoneView.

Versioning

hi Jolly

The article talks abt using version 9, but mac book has itunes 10.22, would that make a difference at all ?

I will try installing the similar version on my old pc as welll but just wanted to make sure.

When I switched from PC to Mac, I had a backup hard drive with music, pics, etc. I just connected it to my iMac an drag and dropped everything over. It was simple.
