I would like to migrate from thunderbird to Apple native mail application using the built in import.

Has anyone done this step? Is it safe or would it lead to problems?

Thanks,

Daniele

Do you use POP and keep emails locally on your Mac? If you're using IMAP then you could just add the account(s) you use to Mail while keeping Thunderbird to ensure you have everything.

Exactly. That is why you always want IMAP vs POP as your email protocol given a choice. It is so much easier to move between email clents using IMAP.

Actually one mailbox uses POP, all the other use IMAP.

I also use Local Folders where I store copy of all emails sent and received.

Would Apple Mail support anything similar to Thundebird archive option?

Thanks for helping, daniele
