Migration Question: Can I Use SuperDuper Clone Disk on New uMBP?

Just got a new mid-2009 15" 2.53GHz uMBP, currently using an early 2007 15" 2.16GHz MBP.
I'm just wondering, because I already have a SuperDuper clone disk (WD 500GB) from my current MBP, can I just simply replace the HD in the new uMBP with the SuperDuper clone disk? Or I must use the Migration Assist to migrate my existing apps/files?
