Hello everybody,
I have a 2011 Macbook pro running lion and I have a Optibay system running with a crucial SSD in the native HD bay and a 750 GB in the optical drive bay. The SSD is the boot drive and I have the user folder on the 750 GB drive. I am upgrading to a 1 TB hard drive. My first attempt was made by using carbon copy cloner, installing the the new 1 TB drive. When I put the cloned new hard drive in the optibay, it did not recognize it as the old drive.
My question is, what is the best way too switch over the user account folder when doing this upgrade. I know how to alter the location of the user folder in system preferences, but I don't want to lock myself out of my account, and have to reinstall lion and migrate over from my time machine back up for my SSD (which already happened).
