A friend has a 3rd gen iPod Touch. She tried to use SoundHound to identify a song. When she tapped the "Tap here" to identify a song, she got a "No mike found" error message.
Any ideas why no mike was found?

because there isn't one?

3rd gen ipod touches do not have a built in mic. There is a mic in the headphones that come with it, and most headphones designed for iPod have the microphone.

The iPod 4th gen are the ones that have a built in mic.

Be more definitive with your correct answer.

OP...(clears throat)...BECAUSE, THERE ISN'T ONE!

You need to use a third party microphone or the microphone on the Apple ear buds with microphone. How well this would work in tagging music beats me.
