I didn't know if anyone saw this or not, being an M$ issue I wasn't sure, but I feel this kid is really getting screwed! Only asking $10,000 for his domain name from a company that should #1 not be so bothered by the issue, and #2 never insult someone with a $10 offer to buy the name.

I think Mike should hold out for royalties and R&D, as long as he is a web developer M$ should put him on payroll. Who knows where his site may have gone, he could have become another .comer and retired with a few $billion.

Sparky's, check the date on the story - it all happened a few months ago. He didn't hold out, he sold out. He gave M$ the domain in exchange for a trip to Redmond, an Xbox and some other bits and pieces.

He had an eBay auction of the legal documents at one stage,it climbed up to the tens of thousands but finished at $1037 after all the dummy bids were retracted .

I had almost forgotten about this story, in another 12 months I would say everyone else will have too.

Yeah, they're paying. Personally, I think he got a pretty good deal, all things considered. I can't actually believe that microsoft cares that much. They are just being one royal puntis. In there attempt to own the universe... Soon enough they will purchase rights to heaven and hell... Just wait.
