I'm planning to upgrade my 09' MBP and though I was planning to buy at the local Apple store I figured I'd check to see if Apple did in fact have a Military discount. I've read that they do but it all seemed vague and the site for Govt. and Military is strange. They have a page that states they DO offer discounts.

I decided to click the Apple chat to speak with CS about this to which they sid yes they do offer a discount. I was asked what I was looking for....15" MBP etc etc. and I said the site states $2290. I was told that was the discount because they are normally $2499. The regular Apple site states $2290! What gives?

This seems all very shady to me!

The govt. and military Apple store show the already discounted prices. Look at the regular Apple Store and the top end 15" MBP is $2499.

Ya guys your'e right. That's exactly what happened! Thanks for straightening me out!
