Military iPhone 5 Case

I am looking for a case for my new iPhone 5. I am in the military and want a case that can withstand a heavy beating as well as water, mud etc. I will be in the field ALOT over then next year and need the highest amount of protection I can get. I am not concerned about looks or how bulky it is etc. I just need max protection. I know our choices are limited and I am scheduled to leave at the beginning of October. Given whats out or about to come out, any Ideas?
 
The TAKTIK by LUNATIK might be what you're looking for. Not sure if they have a release date for the 5 though.

Lifeproof. I am in the military and that is what I use. Waterproof, mudproof, sand proof, everything proof. And it is actually a pretty slim case. Slimmer then the Otterbox Defender. Although I don't know if it will be out before you leave..
 
Look into Otterbox Defender, Lifeproof Case or Griffin Survivor.

Those are the 3 military style rugged ones that I know of.
 
Thanks everyone. I really want the lifeproof. I celled them and they said they don't think it will be out by then.
 
I've never heard of the one mentioned above, but I have heard good things about both Otterbox Defender as well as the Lifeproof case.

An apple store employee demonstrated the Lifeproof case for me and a few other people in the store - he actually tossed his own personal phone in a Lifeproof case about three or four feet away from him and it landed on and bounced off the cement floor of the store. No damage at all to the phone whatsoever! :eek:

I've never tried either case myself, but that was a very convincing demo!
 
Are you 2ID 3BDE? I know they're shipping out in OCT. Best of luck, my unit is currently there now.

I ordered an Otterbox Defender for mine, it always seems to do a good job. I like having the belt holster, makes it easier with ACUs.

I'm sure if you mentioned that you're in the military, and would talk up their case to your fellow soldiers, as well as write up, if not video tape a testimonial, they would be more inclined to get at least a prototype to you. Would be a great commercial for them, way better than that Dusty chick on YouTube's commercial.
 
First off, Thank You for your service, to all the posters above that have served or are currently serving. Stay safe.

The new Otterbox Defender seems pretty decent, it should hold up to anything you put it through.
 
I have had the Defender on two different phones and it protects for sure, but it's huge. After seeing this thread, I am going to look into the LifeProof for a change.

I have not used their iPhone cases, however I do have a gumdrop case on my iPad. In fact we have had them on both iPad 2 and 3, and currently have them on 3 iPads in our house at the moment. It may be worth looking in to.
