So I drove to a dark site last night and set up my iPhone and Skywatcher Star adventurer to see if tracking the night sky for 30” during a night mode capture would look better. It does…The stars are pinpoint as compared to a tripod only mounted iPhone. You don’t need to track the sky, I did to see the difference. The images are better since the iPhone takes three 10” exposures and combines them therefore the stars are slightly elongated without tracking.

Anyway, here are my results. I used the 1x camera only. I did try the UWA but it wasn’t great. So if any of you have questions, I’ll be here to help.

here is a YouTube video from my Australian that will help you guys with your Milky Way photography

Enjoy… I used Lightroom mobile on my iPhone to edit these. I have made some presets to make the edits easier and faster.

Thank you for sharing. Lovely shots. Do you have unedited version of these?

That's bloody beautiful.

The images are a little noisy still, I’ll have to work on that more to find the best edit options. After all the exposures are 30” and they will be noisy until Apple finds or allows a way for us to choose the ISO and exposure time. If we could expose for 3 minutes at ISO 400, the photos would look so much better…

Those pictures are actually stunning. You are so fortunate to live near a dark sky location! Where did you take these photos? I am really excited about the astrophotography capabilities of my 13 Pro but sadly live in a lousy location for the hobby (Northern NJ)…

Great shots as always!!
Thanks!

I live in southeast Texas near Beaumont and I have to drive about 45 minutes north to get to decent skies. Not a bad drive.. I have to pull over on the side of the road for now until I locate somewhere better

Wow, great pics. What in detail did you edit? Can you share the steps you´ve done to them?

What is skywatcher star? And how did you combine the 3 10 second images into one 30 second image?

Amazing! Super cool.

Beautiful shots. I have a big Celestron CGEM and have wanted to pick up a Skywatcher for something more portable. I never thought you could do this with an iPhone. If you are a serious astrophotographer there are ways to manage the sensor noise.

Beautiful photos. Didn't realise we could see heavens so clearly with iPhone 13 Pro Max!

These are stunning. Hard to believe it comes out of the phone. And I feel very humbled, small and insignificant when I see photos like this.

How do you capture a thirty second exposure with the iPhone Pro 13? I have not been able to get it to go longer than six seconds.

If you could describe your hardware + software setup a bit more, I would really appreciate it. I've been looking for a clock-drive mount controllable via iPhone as well as image-stacking software for a while now.
I see you mentioned Star Adventurer. There is a Star Adventurer Console iOS app, and that works with the "Star Adventurer mini" and "Star Adventurer 2i" mounts. But they're really meant for cameras.
Does S A Console do the image stacking for you in raw?

Stunning photos. Thank you for sharing.

Is there a way to download the full-several-megabytes-photos from this forum? All the files I can download weight less than 1 MB, but metadata says that the original filesizes are +5MB.
