Hi all,

Just curious if there's a reason for the mindfulness app being 5 minutes, max? I'd love to see it go to at least 15 minutes.

I want it to go 30 minutes, as that's how long my zazen sessions are. There are other meditation apps you can use to time your sessions, but I like the simplicity of the Apple mindfulness app.

I agree it’d be nice to have more options like 15 or 30, however at that point if you really want that just set a timer… yeah, I know, then it wouldn’t count the mindful minutes as part of the total… well here’s hoping they add more options in the future.

The main difference from a timer is instead of a jarring alarm, you get a gentle tap to let you know the time is up. And yes, like you say, I want it to add to the mindful minutes total.

I find it very annoying too. I made a shortcut that sets a timer for 20 minutes, set mindfulness focus for also 20 minutes so I do t get distractions and also adds the session to Health so I can keep track of my practice.
Instead of a nice bell sound at the end of the session you get the timer alarm though…
Since it’s a shortcut I added it as a complication and with just one tap I start my session.

Just a comment from an old guy who yells at clouds; if you're using an app to practice mindfulness, ur doing it rong.
