My kids love Minecraft on their iPads, and as far as gaming goes I actually don’t mind the game for them. They want to be able to play with their family in other states but I can’t figure out how to make that happen. Seems as though I have to get them a Microsoft account to do that, but I don’t want them to have a standalone account. If I turn off some of the things I don’t want them to have access to for protection it seems to make it not work on minecraft...

I’ve checked out tutorials online but am lost, any help would be greatly appreciated.

To play online with others you need to create an account with Microsoft.

it’s pretty easy to do and you can adjust all the settings and limit who they chat with etc.
My son plays with his best friend all the time - keeps them connected as they’ve been separated due to Covid.
