mini 1.66 intel core duo and snow leopard

I have 2 mini 1.66 intel core duo that I want to get running for my kids. I have a dmg of snow leopard which I have use successfully to image a newer mbp. However, when I image both minis (and a 2.4 ghz mbp) after successful install, I get the flashing folder icon.

I tried reinstalling same result.

Looking for some help before the kids revolt.

Is that dmg an image of the Snow Leopard disk that came with the MBP?

You need a generic Snow Leopard disk, not one that was bundled with a new Mac.

You need a generic Snow Leopard disk, not one that was bundled with a new Mac.

This is only true if disc came from a computer with 10.6 preinstalled if the computer came with 10.5 and the upgrade disc you should be able to use it on other machines.
