iPad mini Mini 6 landscape mode video lag

I've just received my ipad mini 6 and have been testing after switching from my 6 year old mini 4.

The jelly scrolling is present which I personally do not mind but I have also noticed videos in landscape have this weird lag/low refreshrate feeling...

This issue seems to be present only in apps that do not natively support the mini aspect ratio yet such as Netflix.

I noticed the lag as soon as I played a movie on Netflix and directly compared it to my old mini 4 and noticed it was smooth without any lag.

Same problems persist in games that do not support the aspect ratio yet. I'm very sensitive when it comes to these subtle issues is anyone else experencing the issue?

This surely is a software issue that's bound to be fixed immediately?

If the issue lies with the app itself (likely, as they need to change to adapt to the new aspect ratio), then "fixed immediately" is indeterminate and in the hands of the app's developer.
