I am looking to buy one of those small, inexpensive video cameras, something like the Mino HD, Aiptek, etc. Does anyone have any experience using these with a Mac? The thing, of course, with most of them is they record on formats that PCs work with.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks.

I have a DXG-595v video camera. Its my first video camera and i'm happy with it.

It can shoot 1080p video but it always gives me a error about 10 seconds into shooting. So i just shoot in 720p. Video quality is decent i think. For $190 you can't expect the moon just yet. Has some problems focusing when it's zoomed in. I haven't shot any video from a tri-pod yet, that might help.

It's not much in low light.

Works well it imovie.

Videos i have made with the camera:

I have the Sony Webbie (MHS-PM1) and it works fine with iMovie 09. It shoots 1080p, 720p and regular 640x480. Low light performance isn't very good.

thanks for your responses and experience. I will look into these cameras. If anyone else has a comment, I'll be checking back frequently. thanks.
