Hi
I've got a trusty old Mid 2012 MBP. It's an 2.5 i5 with a 16Gb RAM upgrade and a 512 SSD.
I've hooked it up many many times to a cheap Dell monitor (VGA) using a d-port adapter.
Up until Catalina was installed, I was able to run that monitor as a 2nd screen just fine at a 1680 x 1050 resolution (the native res of the screen) but now if I plug it in, the Dell display stays blank.
Troubleshooting, I've found that if I go to the MBP display settings, gather the windows and I get to see the Dell screen options. If I then set the res of the 2nd display to be 1280 x 800 the screen flickers in to life works fine - just at a lower res than it's capable of... Plugged the same screen in to a Win10 laptop and it's all good. Anyone any suggestions as to why this might have changed?
Thank you.
