hi all,

as the title suggests, I purchased a Mini Display port to DVI adapter for my Aluminium Macbook but when I plug it in and connect it to my Dell 24inch monitor, it doesn't detect it.

I remember reading about 2 different types of DVI but i was assured that the Macbook supports both types.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I currently run the display on an acer desktop and it works fine. I haven't had a chance to test the macbook with another DVI capable display as yet.

I was also told that it may have something to do with the refresh rate etc but i have no option to change that until the monitor is detected on the macbook.

yep, same cable.

All im doing is unplugging the cable from the PC and then plugging it in to the adapter, connected to the macbook.

dont have an apple store in Adelaide, Australia, only in Sydney.

I will return to place of purchase and see if they can get it running there.

Cheers for you help
