Mini display port to DVI, DVI to VGA= not working

I am trying to get my macbook pro running on my LG tv. I have a mini display to dvi adapter, which is hooked up to my 6ft DVI to VGA chord which is connected to the tv.

am i missing anything? i cant get my screen to work on my tv.


i forgot to mention, my mac doesnt detect the tv, but if I unplug the display port, the screen goes blue and then back to normal

The Mini-DP to DVI adapter does not transmit an analog signal. It is DVI-D only.

I just ordered the 15ft cable. Hopefully this will work. So far iv already gone through 3 adapters.
