So I have the DVI to VGA adapter from my old powerbook - can I use it with the new minidisplay port to dvi(single-link) adapter? I know daisy-chaining them is kind of silly, but I just don't want to have to buy both the mini-display port to DVI and the mini-display port to VGA adapters.

I read somewhere that the pins are different on the old DVI to VGA adapter and the two won't work together, but I don't know why that would be true.

Thanks!

You're going to need to buy both adapters unless Apple suddenly had a change of heart to make it Mini-DisplayPort to DVI-I and supports the analog signal over DVI.
