Hey,

I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro with a mini display port. I purchased the mini display port to DVI adapter to hook my computer up to a Viewsonic vx2235wm 22" screen. I plug it in and get nothing. I've read on the apple support site that some people with older mac mini's and MacBook Pro's can hook it up no problem. But for me, my monitor is getting no signal and my MacBook Pro doesn't detect the monitor in the Display Preferences.

Everything seems to be connected....

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do you have another monitor you can test it with?

not another dvi monitor i dont think. I could check to see with some friends. all i have at home are VGA monitors. but good idea, and i appreciate your input!

So I tried it with my friends monitor, adapter, and cable. It turns out my monitor just wouldn't work with DVI. I had to buy the Minidisplay Port to VGA adapter and it worked fine.
