Hey guys and gals, I did a search for this and on the first 2 pages of results I didn't see anything so I decided to make a new thread to ask my question, if its a repost or been done to death I apologize. Also I am still a Mac beginner, I think this is my 2nd post on here. 
Last October I bought a new MacBook Pro and I was curious if it is possible to set it up so when you have your MacBook on your stand [I am ordering an mStand, and a wireless apple keyboard] you can have it so, the monitor that is plugged in becomes the primary monitor, and the laptop screen just goes idol. Like I want to shut the lid on my laptop while the Samsung monitor I am using is still working off the laptop. I saw you could turn Mirror Image on. And that was partly how I would like it.
Basically while at home I'd like to treat my laptop like a 2nd desktop.
